Old & New Recipes—-Memory Lane
Couldn’t sleep, tossed and turned until 3:30 and decided to get up and go through old recipes. I have a specific one in mind—a Red Velvet cake I used to make, I thought it would make a nice treat for Valentine’s Day along with heart cookies. I love recipes— old and new, but I tend to gravitate to the old! I have quite a collection, my Moms, my Mother-in-laws, and mine plus I ALWAYS have my eyes out for old cookbooks when I travel. I also like to look through family and friends collections when I’m visiting! I know I will never make all I have but it just brings me joy to know I have the recipe if the mood so strikes. I often sit down with the intention of perhaps pairing them down but usually they all end up going back in my files. I think ‘Oh yeah, I wanted to try that’ or ‘Mmm that sounds good’.
